MADISON + JORDAN

When I first talked to Madison and Jordan last year, Madison told me that she didn't want to do a typical engagement session. She really wanted to do a shoot in their wedding dress and suit and shoot in a coffee shop because they met at a coffee shop. Unfortunately, covid-19 made this very difficult to plan because for so long, you could dine or sit in restaurants or shops of any sort, let one do a shoot inside. I was very determined to make this happen for them though. 

Madison got her wedding dress back with all her alterations done in April, just as the world was finally starting to open up. I asked her if she had any coffee shop preferences and she gave me a list, which included Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company in St Helena. They didn't mind which coffee shop but they actually had their first date at this coffee shop and I wanted to make it special for them so obviously we had to shoot there! I went and scoped it out to make sure it'd be good to shoot in light-wise, space-wise and all that fun stuff. It was so cute! If you're ever in Napa Valley, I highly recommend checking out Napa Valley Coffee Roasters in St Helena - there's also a location in Napa as well :)

Since this was the first time Jordan was going to see her wedding dress, we did a first look at the start of the shoot! The wall next to the Napa Valley Coffee Roasting Company shop is a wall with greenery on it - it was so simple and beautiful and the perfect spot for a first look. After that, we went inside and got coffee and it was so fun to watch them interact with each other in a place that's so special to them and I'm so stoked on these photos!

After we left the coffee shop, we went to another spot that has a special place in their hearts - Bothe-Napa Valley State Park. You'd have no idea looking at the photos but it was SO hot on this day but they both powered through and it was so much fun! I'm SOOO excited for their wedding this weekend at their house that they bought together. I know they've been working on everything for a long time now and it's going to be so special - stay tuned! :)
