HEATHER + GLEN

One of my favorite things about living in and getting to shoot with and meet couple in the Bay Area and usually they're not from California. So many people come from out of state and I just love hearing about where everyone is from, how they met and how they ended up where they are. They both went to the same college in New York and met in college because they had the same major! Heather is from New York and Glen is originally from Oregon but made his way to New York for college because he loves hockey and the school also had a great program for his major. After college they made their way to California and now work in the tech industry! I'm so glad they made their way to the Bay Area and that I got the opportunity to meet and work with them :)

One of my favorite pieces of advice for engagement sessions, because I know getting in front of the camera can be nerve-racking, is to bring a drink! Heather and Glen got to the location early and enjoyed a glass of wine and hung out before I arrived and I think everyone should take note! A little bit of liquid courage to get the vibes flowin' :) I also love when couples incorporate their favorite drinks or foods into the session because it makes it more personal to them. Don't be afraid to bring things to your engagement session to personalize your photos a bit! Have a pet? A hobby you like to do together? Board games? The possibilities are endless! I asked if they have any pets and they have a cat and a dog - Heather joked about how much Glen would have loved to have their cat, Echo, at the shoot. So if anyone wants to bring their cats to their engagement session, I'm all for it haha.

This was such a fun engagement session and I can't wait for their wedding in Napa Valley next year!
