Proposal at The Carneros Resort in Napa Valley

Let me start out by saying I've been wanting to shoot a wedding at the beautiful Carneros Resort since I moved to Napa back in February. So I was SO excited when Zach reach out to me asking to capture his proposal there! If I love anything more than weddings, it's got to be proposals. It's just such a special moment to be apart of and an honor to get to capture for couples. I also want to note that Zach contacted me just the day before he planned to propose, so it's never too late to decide to hire a photographer!! That being said... definitely plan ahead haha. But I was so glad that I happened to be available to capture this moment for them!

Zach and Jimmy moved to San Francisco from Boston at the start of covid. They're actually moving back to Boston soon and they're taking the rest of their time here to explore the bay area, hence the getaway weekend to the beautiful wine country!

When I asked Zach what his plan was, he has said that they were getting a massage at the resort's spa and then they planned to walk around and explore the resort before they went to there dinner reservation at FARM. (If you haven't been to FARM at Carneros, you should definitely check it out!) He wanted to pop the question somewhere during their walk, so I went to the resort and scoped it out. We decided to do it at the arbor because it's STUNNING and very quiet and intimate.

I wish that someone had recorded me scurrying from spot to spot trying decide the best place to hide before the proposal because I was sooo ~indecisive~ and looking back on it, it was pretty comical. I also had to shoo away tons of people who would walk up to the arbor to take photos (oops). But they were obviously very understanding when I told them what was happening. And it all worked out!! It always does ;) As they were making there way to the arbor, I ran and ducked behind a fountain so I would have the perfect view and snapped away when Zach did his thang. And Jimmy never suspected a thing! It was perfect :)
